Senior Instructional Systems Designer:
Silotech Group Inc. now has an opportunity for a senior-level Instructional Systems Designer, who will thrive within a cyber-training academy setting.
The successful candidate is expected to take the lead in the creation and implementation of multiple training resources that have a direct impact on the preparedness of this country’s defense and law enforcement personnel. He or she will be a self-directed, quick learner who can translate and distill complex content into a student-focused and rigidly-assessed instructional offering. Superb analysis and listening/communication skills, an adaptive outlook, and an eye for new approaches to instruction and its many facets are also required.
This position also requires an individual who can acquire or already possesses a DoD Secret clearance at minimum

On this contract, our team develops, delivers and maintains cyber training for incident responders, forensic examiners, investigators, system administrators, or any DoD member who must ensure defense information systems are secure from unauthorized use, counterintelligence threats and criminal activities. We provide cyber operations and cyber investigations expertise, instructional systems design (ISD) support for curriculum development, multimedia support for distance education and delivery. Our team support includes the integration and maintenance of a state-of-the-art online learning management system (LMS) incorporating sophisticated records management, custom reporting and formal/informal distance education delivery.

Job Functions:
  • Application of design methodologies including, but not limited to, the ADDIE model
  • Analyze current courseware, current learner needs and the ability to summarize these findings
    • Conduct subject matter expert interviews and lead group discussions to understand the in-depth training needs
    • Select appropriate assessment approaches, instructional strategies and available content to satisfy training needs and meet training goals
  • Design performance-focused training courseware in collaboration with technical subject matter experts for various online and in-residence environments
    • Create practical learning objectives and overall course motivation that reflect the course assessment
    • Design a cohesive course structure by sequencing and chunking learning content
    • Select effective instructional strategies and solutions, and develop into storyboards, when appropriate
  • Use sound instructional design principles to develop courseware for adult learners in a hands-on training environment
    • Create new instructional solutions for evaluation and demonstration
    • Lead the development of instructional solutions with the assistance of subject matter experts, technical writers and graphic design/video production based on storyboards
    • Develop instructor guides to ensure consistent and effective delivery of training materials
    • Review, revise and update course materials as needed
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of developed instructional solutions, course ware and instructional delivery for learner retention and application
Standard Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design or related field preferred
  • Four or more years of experience in training, education or instructional design
  • Good computer, software and multimedia skills related to program development (i.e., Moodle, Lectora and Adobe Captivate, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and learners, and facilitating effective working relationships with varied levels of employees
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a creative team
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly take in large amounts of information and reduce to teachable segments
  • Strong communication skills to develop training programs and procedures
  • Successful track record of prioritizing and meeting deadlines
