Cyber/IT Academy Instructor:
Silotech Group Inc. now has an opportunity for our Cyber/IT Academy, who will thrive within a cyber-training academy setting.  The successful candidate is expected to take the lead in the creation and implementation of multiple training resources that have a direct impact on the preparedness of this country’s defense and law enforcement personnel. He or she will be a self-directed, quick learner who can translate complex content into a student-focused and rigidly-assessed instructional offering. Superb analysis and listening/communication skills, an adaptive outlook, and an eye for new approaches to instruction and its many facets are also required.  Must possess or be eligible for SECRET clearance at a minimum.
 
Job Functions:
  • Analyze current courseware, current learner needs and the ability to summarize these findings to adjust to target audience level of expertise
  • Possess advanced presentation speaking skills (e.g. tailoring content and delivery for different audiences, presenting confidently to large or small groups, and using more creative approaches to presenting).
  • Must have graduated the NSA’s Joint Cyber Analysis Course (JCAC) or have a working knowledge of all of the following topics:
    • Discrete structures and logical proofs
    • Programming fundamentals and basic programming to include C and Python
    • Operating systems with proficiency in Windows and Unix
    • Protocol analysis
    • Target research/SIGINT analysis experience a plus
    • Active exploitation
    • Computer network defense
    • Forensics methodology and malware analysis
    • Intermediate to advance Nexus, Snort, Malware, Reverse Engineering, and coding experience
  • Possess pedagogical/androgogical content knowledge, defined as the ability to recognize student mistakes, why they may have made those mistakes, and how to get students back on track from where they are. Instructor/writers must be able to diagnose underlying student misconceptions and misunderstandings from the mistakes they make and then help them correct those misconceptions and misunderstandings instead of merely addressing the mistakes themselves.
  • Use sound instructional design principles and tailor courseware for adult learners in a hands-on training environment
  • Develop instructor guides to ensure consistent and effective delivery of training materials
  • Review, revise and update course materials as needed
 Standard Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Have 1 (one) year of experience, within the last 5 (five) years, instructing full-length instructional and training material in courses related to information security, network mapping, penetration testing, basic digital forensics data collection and analysis, software threat analysis, reacting to cyberspace events, employing cyberspace defense infrastructure capabilities, providing incident response impact assessments, producing network security posture assessments, analyzing computer system and network architectures, and determining and implementing exploitation methods
  • Must possess a current CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) and Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) course certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and learners, and facilitating effective working relationships with varied levels of employees
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a creative team
  • Ability to quickly take in large amounts of information and reduce to teachable segments
  • Possess advanced presentation speaking skills (e.g. tailoring content and delivery for different audiences, presenting confidently to large or small groups, and using more creative approaches to presenting).
